"I have been running for around 23 years and have 20 years experience in sports retail. I started my career in Cornwall where I took on a struggling sports shop, and turned it around to become a popular store and part of the local community. After moving back to the midlands I realised the need for a good running store in Burton and opened Running Form in December 2009. Burton and the surrounding areas throughout Staffordshire and Derbyshire have a vibrant running and triathlon scene and feel privileged to be a part of that. I feel very well supported by my wife Laura who is also an avid runner and runs Physio Form physio and sports injuries clinic based next door to the shop. We also received a lot of support from our families in order to juggle babysitting and try out new ideas and even lending a pair of hands at events."

"In a nutshell – born down south, forged up north, live to thrive!
I was born in Kent but grew up in Sheffield and married a Burton girl. I was football mad when I was younger but a passion for running began in 2008 when I ran my first marathon out in New York. Since then I have gone on to complete all six of the world marathon majors and have currently run 18 in total with more on the horizon. But it hasn’t just all been marathons. I have dipped my toe into ultra running, completing a 100k race and a 12 hour solo race and a 50k beer ultra and a beer mile!
Running has become an essential part of who I am in so many ways. I have travelled the world to run, written about running, set up a running club, raised money for charity through running and now, alongside having the enjoyment of working in a running shop, I also have my own running coaching business.
Besides running I love listening to music and going to live gigs. As hinted to above I also have an appreciation for craft beer, especially big strong stouts! This is the reason why I cant stop running.

The running journey started with OCR (obstacle course racing) Tough Mudder etc. and I was persuaded to run the Wolverhampton Half Marathon. This race was run alongside the Wolverhampton Marathon and I remember thinking at the end, how can anyone run that distance twice! Well 11 Ultra-Marathons including 100 miles in a day, 5 Marathons and many other races in between I`m still running and am very passionate about all that is running, from the science led training and nutrition and not forgetting the freedom running brings to the mind and body.
